Zeeuwsche Zoute Zwarte Garlic is perfect for flavor combinations in which a soft salty taste is desired, combined with the sweet umami note that the black garlic gives. This new seasoning is the ideal partner for sauces with chicken or vegetable dishes. But this sweet addition also comes into its own with meat and salads. In addition to the full taste, the black garlic also adds a wonderful aroma to your dish.
Black garlic is produced by lightly heating the standard white garlic bulb for several weeks. This causes the sugars and amino acids to react and together produce melanoidin – which is responsible for the rich black color.

Where Zeeuwsche Zout finds its origin
On the banks of the Dutch Oosterschelde, we pump up the seawater with the incoming tide at the fishing village of Bruinisse on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland. The Oosterschelde National Park is the largest national park in the Netherlands. Purified by sandbars, oyster and mussel beds, this is one of the best places to obtain clear and clean water from the Oosterschelde. Did you know that an oyster purifies an average of 5 liters of water per hour? Mussels go the extra mile and purify no less than 10 liters of water per hour.
