Dashi is a Japanese broth, it is the essence of umami taste in Japanese food. This excellent quality dashi, doesn’t contain mushroom and has a great bonito taste. It is produced in the town of Makurazaki, well-known for its bonito.
Infuse a sachet of dashi in 0.5L to 1L of hot water for 1-2 min. Dashi is used in many Japanese dishes: miso soup, ramen soup, donburi, rice, chawanmushi (egg pudding) and in stews such as Nikujaga etc. It can also be used for vegetable soups and risottos.
Store in a cool, dark and dry place.
